Yamaha issued a recall of all Yamaha Rhino 450 and 660 model vehicles following 46 confirmed deaths and several other injuries related to the vehicles. The recalled Yamaha Rhino side-by-side ATVs have been linked to several injuries and deaths since it first hit the market in Fall 2003.

Lawsuit Filed By Arizona Woman Who Almost Lost Leg In Yamaha Rhino Rollover
A 21-year-old Arizona woman has filed a lawsuit against Yamaha to recover for injuries she suffered in a Yamaha Rhino rollover. Ashley Stamper-Sparks alleges that she suffered severe injuries to her leg, and has had multiple surgeries in order to avoid the amputation of her leg. Attorneys for Ms. Sparks allege that the Rhino was defectively designed and that these defects led to the accident and the injuries. The Consumer Product Safety Commission and Yamaha announced on March 31, 2009 that owners should stop using the vehicles and should return them to Yamaha dealers for repairs intended to make the Rhinos safer.
